Campus Ministries

Both Hessel Park Church institutionally and a number of its members individually are involved in various ministries to the University of Illinois campus. We highlight several of those ministries here:
  • Graduate Christian Fellowship is a trans-denominational fellowship of graduate students which seeks to engage the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in all of its ethnic and academic diversity with the gospel of Jesus Christ and develop disciples. GCF is a graduate chapter of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.

  • Illini Christian Faculty and Staff is a growing community of Christian faculty and staff members at the University of Illinois, whose Mission is to encourage and assist one another in the integration of our Christian faith with our academic and professional lives, and to promote thoughtful dialogue on campus about the Christian understanding of the beauty and unity of truth in Jesus Christ. As followers of Jesus, who value both truth and relationships, we hope to develop friendships with all those who are exploring the most profound questions of the academy.

  • International Christian Fellowship at the University of Illinois is a group of students at the University of Illinois, as well as people who live and work in the community. Many have traveled and lived in other countries, and enjoy being with people from around the world. Members of ICF seek to build friendships with international students, scholars, postdocs and their families through informal events.

  • The Veritas Forum is a non-profit organization that works with Christian students on college campuses to host Forums centered on the exploration of truth and its place in the educational system. Its activities are university events that engage students and faculty in discussions about life's hardest questions and the relevance of Jesus Christ to all of life. The Forums seek to inspire the shapers of tomorrow's culture to connect their hardest questions with the person and story of Jesus Christ. The Veritas Forum is currently partnering with more than 60 leading schools in North America and Europe, including the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign:

"The Veritas Forum at the U of I seeks to create forums for the exploration of truth (veritas) and life. We seek to inspire the shapers of tomorrow's culture to connect their hardest questions with the person and story of Jesus Christ and engage them with other religious and secular points of view."
